Holidays in Turunc

Turunc Introduction

Turunc is a delightful resort and is one of the prettiest in our programme. The setting is quite dramatic with a backdrop of pine-clad mountains and a beautiful, unspoilt coastline. Although only a relatively short distance from Marmaris, Turunc is quite different in that it’s a lot smaller, far less commercial and has a lovely laid-back feel to it.

Why Choose Turunc?

If your idea of the perfect holiday is magnificent scenery, crystal clear seas, an attractive Turkish village and a laid-back, easy-going way of life, then Turunc is definitely for you. It rarely gets crowded, even in high season and is one of Turkey’s best kept secrets.

Best Time to Travel

Any time is a good time to be in Turunc although the days are longer in May and June and the sea is at its warmest in September and October. In July and August there’s a lot of local tourism whilst throughout the rest of the summer Turunc’s visitors come from far and wide.

The Resort

Turunc’s location could not be better. It enjoys a fabulous setting between the blue Mediterranean and the imposing mountains behind the resort. There’s a small beach near the jetty whilst the main village street is home to a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There’s regular local transport and boats, too, to Icmeler and Marmaris.

Eating & Drinking

Turunc offers a small selection of places to eat and drink from family-run cafes to more up-market bars and restaurants for the discerning visitor. Everything is within easy walking distance and is concentrated around the main street and along the seafront.

Excursions

Apart from the many boat trips available, you can also visit and / or try your hand at white water rafting, Jeep Safari, Turkish Bath, Dalyan (the Kaunos rock tombs and mud baths), Ephesus & Pamukkale and Rhodes (in Greece) by hydrofoil. All excursions operate via Icmeler or Marmaris.

Night Life & Shopping

Turunc’s nightlife is very low-key with a couple of night bars and not a lot else. Most visitors enjoy the peace and quiet of the resort in the evening but, if you feel the need for a little action, Icmeler is a short taxi ride away. Shopping is limited so you would have to head for Icmeler for some local retail therapy. However, for serious shoppers, Marmaris, just 20 kms away, offers a wide array of shops, markets and stalls of every kind.
