Geography

In the furthest North-East of the African Continent, Tunisia spreads over 164.000 Km2. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea from the North and East; the country offers 1250 kms of coast line.

The North is verdant and vast while the South is barren, made of steppes and desert.

Climate

Mediterranean in the North and Coastal regions, semi arid towards the South. Tunisia offers an all year round sunshine. Winters are mild with average temperatures of 16C. In spring temperatures rise up to 25C, and average summer temperatures are around 32C. Peaks of over 40C can be reached at the Southern areas of the desert.

Language

The official language is Arabic. French is the second language, and English is widely spoken. Signs are in Arabic and French Display. In Tourist establishments, Hotels and resorts, English is fluently spoken.
